The LG G6 Plus is here, but it’s not what you think

June 20, 2017

Faster, well technically.

In a surprising move, LG has just launched a beefier version of the LG G6 Plus that offers more RAM and a bigger storage space. The LG G6 Plus will have 6 GB of RAM (up from 4 GB) and 128 GB of storage (up from 64 GB).

We said surprising because that’s the only upgrade present on the LG G6 Plus – the screen is still the same 5.7-inch QHD+ display along with the same camera optics and battery. We could at least have expected LG to update the older Snapdragon 821 to the new Snapdragon 835.

Even the plus naming would have led us to believe it will have a larger – or taller – screen. But that’s the only difference between the Plus and the original LG G6.

Additionally, new software features is coming to the LG G6 and LG G6 Plus through an upcoming update. This includes Face Print which is LG’s version of Face Unlock along with a new Covered Lens feature that will tell you if your fingers detected in the camera lens when taking an image.

Pricing has yet to be revealed – but sources claim that it will be $100 more than the normal LG G6. The LG G6 Plus is scheduled to be available in South Korea first, but it looks LG is expanding the release to other territories as well.
