We keep asking for Samsung to make a premium smartphone that’s not made of plastic and now we have it: The Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has now been officially announced by Samsung as their first smartphone not to be made from plastic and it now comes with a metal frame. It does looks classy judging from the image, but you can’t help but notice that it bears another striking resemblance to Apple’s iPhone.
Specifications-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will carry a 4.7-inch screen with a 720p resolution, a step down from the full HD screens found on the flagship Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5. It will have an octa-core processor along with a 12 megapixel camera. Expect it to run on the latest version of Android KitKat along with Samsung’s own overlay, TouchWiz.
Weighing in at just 115 grams, it is definitely lighter than the iPhone. I must admit that I like the design, which is a welcome change from the plethora of Galaxy smartphones that were released previously.
What do you think of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha? Should Apple start contacting their lawyers again? Let us know what you think.
