New wearable combines a sunglass and a headphone.
Bose Frames officially makes its debut in the UAE – this new wearable looks like a standard sunglass, but it actually has a built-in wireless headphone. Bose is also launching the Frames Lens Collection that will include a set of various gradient mirrored lenses that can be easily switched to your liking.
Frames feature Bose’s own open-ear design works just like any other headphone, giving you amazing sound and the ability to use it for phone calls as well. “With the new lens options, they’re more versatile premium sunglasses. But when you turn them on, they function like headphones, instantly connecting to your phone, contacts, the web, and all its audible content. Frames have taken the wearable category by storm since their U.S. release six months ago, and we’re really excited to bring their groundbreaking performance — and new accessories — to people all over the world,” said Mehul Trivedi, director of Bose Frames.
Bose Frames will come in two designs: Alto (square and angled) and Rondo (round and smaller). The lenses are able to block up to 99 percent of UVA/UVB rays and only weighs 45 grams. Frames also support Siri for iOS users and Google Assistant for Android users.
Frames also have support for Bose AR, a new augmented reality platform that adds a layer of audio depending on your position where the app uses your phone’s gyroscope to pinpoint your location.
Bose Frames are now available for 849 AED while the Bose Frames Lens Collection non-polarized and polarized lenses retailing for 99 AED, and 129 AED, respectively. Expect the Frames to arrive in stores on May 21st.
