The world’s first 7-inch smartphone

Is it really considered a smartphone?

Meet the Blu Studio 7.0 – the world’s first 7-inch smartphone. Confused? We were too since there is already a plethora of 7-inch devices available out there. The catch is that while we normally to these devices as phablets, the Blu Studio is still being marketed as a smartphone so they can technically make the claim.

Okay it doesn’t make sense, but for $149 the Blu Studio 7.0 looks good specs-wise for a mid-range smartphone. The 7-inch display supports a 600 x 1024 pixels screen resolution with a 1.3 GHz MediaTek dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. There is also a 5 megapixel camera with a LED flash and a 3000 mAh battery. At the back, expect a surface that emulates the design of the Samsung Galaxy S5’s rear. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat.

While the smartphone itself is made in China, the company, Blu is actually a US-based company where it was claimed that they design their smartphones in Miami.
