There are bus lanes and bicycle lanes, then there’s texting lanes

Utah University introduces a dedicated ‘texting lanes’.

Do you ever walk down the street only to be blocked by someone busy down on their smartphones? How many times have you had to say ‘excuse me?’ just to let them know that you need to pass? Much like how certain places have introduced walking and running lanes, Utah University has introduced a dedicated ‘texting lane’ that will make slow walkers move out of your way.

The idea originally started as a joke, but eventually somehow the makers realized that it should make sense, considering a bulk of students walking in the premises are seemingly glued to their smartphones. The increase in accidents related to texting somehow prompted the authorities to grant the new texting lanes.

Do you think texting lanes should be implemented everywhere? Share us your thoughts in the comments below!
