Along with announcing a new smartphone, the Xiaomi also introduced their own fitness tracker that costs only $13.

Aside from releasing a new smartphone, Chinese company Xiaomi has also announced a new fitness tracker called the Mi Band – and while looks wise it resembles other fitness band out there, a few standout features such as waterproof capability and a 30 days battery life is present. All of this costing just $13.

When paired with the Mi 4, the Mi Band can instantly unlock the smartphone without the need to enter any password. Kind of like the same way Android Wear is being prepped to have the same feature.

Xiaomi is also looking into integrating the Mi Band with everyday tasks such as unlocking doors or operate appliances.

The price is certainly attractive but since the Mi 4 smartphone will initially launch in China at the moment, it seems the Mi Band is also following suit. No word if it will only exclusively support the Mi 4 or if other smartphones can pair with it.
