Twitter will soon let you choose who can reply to your tweet
January 12, 2020

Part of the company’s increasing privacy efforts.

The increasing toxicity of social media has already prompted some companies to offer various ways on how to reduce negativity with each discussion. For Twitter, it is currently testing out a feature where you can choose who replies to your conversations.

As part of Twitter’s reply settings, you will get to choose between four options on your tweet: anyone can reply, followed accounts can reply, people tagged can reply or completely disable replies. This allows you to have more control over the conversations that you start and hopefully will weed out the toxicity that the platform is trying to fight.

Twitter is testing the feature at the moment and there isn’t a specific timeline as to when it will roll out, but it’s good to know that companies are stepping up to make social media a safe space for everyone.
