Free AR-based tours are now available at Ibn Battuta Mall.
If you’ve been to Dubai then you’ve probably encountered Ibn Battuta Mall as one of the biggest malls in the Emirate. More than just a shopping destination, Ibn Battuta Mall is currently the world’s largest themed mall and architectural wonder. Made by Nakheel Malls, Ibn Battuta Mall lets you explore the famed explorer’s footsteps with a different themed venue resembling famous places such as India, China, and Egypt.
In line with this concept, Ibn Battuta Mall is launching a new Augmented Reality (AR) walking tour that will let you see a real-life avatar of Ibn Battuta. The AR experience will also let you learn more about his journeys as you visit all six courts of the mall.
In addition, the walking tour includes six AR filters inspired by Ibn Battuta himself. These filters represent a unique feature on each of the six courts: a lion in the Andalusian Court, a phoenix in the Egypt Court, an elephant in the India Court, and a dragon in the China Court. Families can also take advantage of a Pharaoh and Indian-inspired make-up face filter.
The best part? The tours are completely free, and will take place every weekend (Thursday – Saturday) starting today, March 18th to April 3rd at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm schedules. Interested visitors can book a slot here.
