Want to take a McLaren for a drive around Dubai next Saturday?
December 1, 2014

Here’s your chance to realize the dream of being an F1 racer for a day (well, a small portion of a day) thanks to Uber’s latest collabo with McLaren.

The famous taxi company, Uber, has joined forces with McLaren to give everyone in the UAE the chance to request a test drive for McLaren’s hot new 650S. Uber app users requesting the drive must be 25 years old or above.

An on-demand request can be made for a 15-minute test drive around Downtown Dubai or DIFC from 2:00-6:00pm on Saturday (December 6). A McLaren Product Specialist will accompany the test driver.

Jean-Pierre Mondalek, Uber’s General Manager for UAE said: “Our collaboration with McLaren Automotive is a unique experience. You don’t get to drive a supercar on-demand every day!” says JP. “Here in the UAE, we’re proud to offer this as a world first to our Uber users, and we can’t think of a better location than Downtown Dubai or DIFC to take the 650S for a spin. What a way to spend the weekend. We’re thrilled at Uber to be partnering with McLaren to help them engage with supercar fans in Dubai.”

Tom Pryor, McLaren Automotive Marketing and PR Manager Middle East & Africa, said: “Uber are finding innovative and groundbreaking ways to enable people to move around and connect in cities throughout the world with their technology. It therefore makes us proud that Uber have selected McLaren as a partner having felt that we also embody the same dedication to delivering innovation and groundbreaking technology to supercar owners around the world.’’

The iconic McLaren P1 styling makes a statement on this supercar’s dramatic physique. LED headlights, an aggressive splitter and door blades that optimize downforce, are just a few of the features that make this unique beauty a high performer with safety on par. The 650S can go from 0-100kph in just 3 seconds and can reach a speed of up to 333kph.

For those who’d like to park this beast in their garage, it’s available for purchase in the UAE starting at AED 1,048,500.

The Uber app is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry or go to uber.com/app to sign up for an unforgettable ride and make your auto dream a reality.
