The fitness tracker gets smarter with the Fitbit Versa 2

Fitbit’s next iteration of its popular smartwatch Versa is finally launching in the UAE along with a new premium subscription service that aims to help you achieve your fitness goals. The Versa 2 may look the same, but it boasts a swimproof design and an innovative sleep feature that utilizes AI so you can sleep and wake up properly.

The Versa 2 maybe a smartwatch, but Fitbit’s award-winning fitness tracking technologies are still present. Some of these features have also been enhanced to deliver more accurate results. Along with that, an on-board microphone will now let you use voice to text (only supported on Android) plus support for Fitbit Pay. There’s even a Spotify app for you can use it as a remote when listening to your playlists – no need to take out your phone.

The launch event also highlighted some of the best features of the Versa 2: improved performance, more than 3000 apps and watch faces to choose from, a brighter and crisper display and our favorite, the 5+ days of battery life.

“At Fitbit, we believe that health belongs to everyone and that people should not be priced out of having access to devices and features that can help them improve their health. That’s why we’ve designed Versa 2 to be a premium, full-featured and easy-to-use smartwatch at an accessible price point,” said James Park, co-founder, and CEO of Fitbit. 

The Fitbit Versa 2 will come in black with a carbon case, petal with a copper rose aluminum case and stone with a mist grey case. This standard edition will retail for 899 AED with two exclusive editions (emerald and plum colors with a copper rose case) will be exclusive to Amazon UAE. There will also be a Fitbit Versa Special Edition that will come in a navy and pink with a copper rose aluminum case and smoke with a mist grey case that will retail for 999 AED. It’s now available for pre-order and will be officially available next week on the 24th of September.

Also announced is Fitbit Premium, a subscription service accessible through the Fitbit app that will help you get more personalized recommendations on your workouts, which in turn could also help you achieve your goals. Fitbit premium will cost 40 AED per month or 330 AED per year. 

All Fitbit users can try out Fitbit Premium for 7 days. If you’re purchasing a Fitbit Versa 2 Special Edition, you will be eligible for a 90-day free trial of Fitbit Premium.
