Research shows that owning an iPhone is a common sign of wealth
July 9, 2018

If you own an Apple device, you’re rich.

It is somewhat a known fact that owning an Apple device – whether that’s an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, etc. – might show a sign that you make a lot of money, or at least that’s a recent research has suggested.

A report from the National Bureau of Economic Research said that owning an Apple device, particularly an iPhone, has become synonymous with bring wealthy. “Across all years in our data, no individual brand is as predictive of being high-income as owning an Apple iPhone in 2016,” one of the comments on the paper said.

The research paper said that 69.1 percent of those owning an iPhone is considered ‘high-income’ individuals. The same goes for owning an iPad and any other Apple product.

More details about the research can be read here:

But if you look at it, Apple does produce devices that are sold at a price that puts it on the expensive side. Take for example last year’s iPhone X, which was sold in the UAE for 4,729 AED for 256 GB variant – and that is before the 5 percent VAT was implemented. Today, the iPhone X in the UAE will amount to almost 4,900+ AED.

Do you agree? Do you think all Apple users are wealthy? Does it really that you’re rich if you own an iPhone? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
