Sony’s wearable AC gets an upgrade

April 25, 2021

The Sony Reon Pocket 2 is twice as cool.

Sony’s wearable air conditioner felt like something out of a science fiction movie. The Reon Pocket offered a way for you to cool down through heat absorption and effectively cool you down especially during the summer months. Today, the company has announced the Reon Pocket 2 that brings improved internals that makes it ‘twice as cool’.

The first iteration of the Reon Pocket required special clothing in order to use it but for the Reon Pocket 2, Sony has partnered with different golf sporting brands to produce clothing that has a pocket to slide the device into. In case you’re not into golf, the Reon Pocket 2 has a special neckstrap accessory so you can still use it with regular clothes.

It’s sweatproof and drip-proof, which means it’s the perfect accessory even when you’re working out. The Reon Pocket 2 looks more or less similar to the previous model, and as mentioned most of the upgrades are on the inside. Selling for 14,850 yen (around 505 AED), the Reon Pocket 2 is out initially in Japan. Like its predecessor, there is no word if or when the portable AC will make its way to other countries.

Fingers crossed that the Reon Pocket 2 makes its way here in the Middle East, especially since summer is fast approaching.
