Facebook follows a close second.
A report by Arabian Business said that messaging platform WhatsApp is the most used social media app in the UAE, with about 97 percent of the population using it. Facebook is at a close second with 89 percent. The report shows how popular WhatsApp is and despite some of its features being blocked for use in the country, it is still the most preferred way of messaging for everyone.
The report also revealed that Snapchat (27 percent) and LinkedIn (16 percent) were the least popular platforms, though LinkedIn has a user base with an age group between 22 and 34 years old. The report also said that 18 to 21 year olds were the most active on social media.
