Wileyfox’s new smartphone is here, and we have questions
November 22, 2017

Windows Phone, really?

Microsoft pretty much admitted that Windows Phone is already dead, but Wileyfox still decided to release a new smartphone based on the platform. The Wileyfox Pro was initially announced at CES 2017 earlier this year, though a lot has happened with the Windows 10 platform between then and now.

The UK-based company did make a few impressive Android smartphones in the past and even came at very affordable prices. But the move to release a Windows Phone at this time still puts a question mark to our heads.

But let’s look at the hardware, the Wileyfox Pro is basically a modified ARCHOS 50 Cesium. It’s powered by Snapdragon 210 CPU along with 2 GB of RAM. There’s also 16 GB of internal storage along with 8-megapixel and 2-mgeapixel cameras. The smartphone will also have a 5-inch 720p screen.

If you’re still interested in getting a Windows Phone, it will sell directly from Amazon for about $250.

But really, do you think it’s still worth buying a smartphone with an unsupported and discontinued platform?
