An everyday machine that’s worth the price.
As part of Acer’s plan for a sustainable future, it has introduced its Vero line of notebooks that are made from Post-Consumer Recycled plastics (PCR) that are eco-friendly and help reduce landfill waste.
The Vero also employs the use of PCR on the top and bottom covers, as well as the keycaps used on the keyboard. Moreover, the touchpad is made from ocean-bound plastic. The material feels a little more textured compared to the usual smooth plastic or shiny aluminum that comes with other laptops, but it’s lightweight and easy to carry everywhere.
The version we got for review came in a Marina Blue color and comes with a 14-inch Full HD display. It’s powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core processor and comes with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, a fingerprint sensor and Wi-Fi 6. A selection of ports is also available, including Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports where one can be used to charge mobile devices even with the laptop turned off.
The Aspire Vero is also co-engineered with Intel to meet the Intel Evo laptop requirements, ensuring that you get more real-world battery life. It also supports fast charging that adds 4 hours of usage with just 30 minutes of charging and can instantly wake from sleep mode in less than 1 second.
Performance-wise, the Vero managed to perform well as an everyday computer. I used it for a couple of days as my primary work computer, and I did not experience any hiccups or slowdowns. True to Acer’s claim, even the Vero’s packaging is made from recycled paper. The inner partition of the packaging can even be transformed into a laptop stand.
Eco-friendly and straightforward, the Acer Aspire Vero delivers a great and sustainable laptop experience thanks to its use of recycled materials and great internal hardware. It also provides a great battery life and fast charging, so you don’t ever have to worry about bringing a charger—a great everyday laptop perfect for school or even the office.
