BenQ ZOWIE XL2411K Review
January 25, 2021

Made for gamers.

The Lowdown:

The BenQ Zowie XL2411K offers an inexpensive way for you to enjoy fast-paced games on a monitor that performs at par with more expensive variants.

The Review:

An upgrade of the Zowie XL2411P, the Zowie XL2411K brings subtle but welcome improvements to this gaming monitor that still ranks as one of the best we’ve tested. The stand base has changed so it doesn’t take a lot of space and doesn’t affect stability. The Zowie XL2411K is still able to provide height and angle adjustment to offer a perfect gaming environment.

Similar to other Zowie gaming monitors, the Zowie XL2411K also comes with dark grey bezels that surround the screen along with a red highlight that runs on the stand. The 24-inch TN monitor also comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms grey to grey response time, perfect for fast-paced games like first-person shooters. I mostly play in 4K with some games, but considering this is aimed for an eSports type of scenario, the full HD is more than enough.

BenQ has also included some exclusive technologies to make gaming better on the Zowie XL2411K. This includes DyAc (Dynamic Accuracy) which minimizes blur perfectly when you’re trying to see the exact position of the crosshair, though the monitor’s brightness is reduced when the feature is turned on. BenQ cites design limitations for the reduced brightness, which only happens on this model. There’s also Black eQualizer that increases visibility in dark scenes but doesn’t overexpose the bright areas, Color vibrance that helps differentiate enemy targets, as well as easy to use presets that you can customize and change on the fly.

At the back, the Zowie XL2411K offers multiple I/O ports for video. The downward-facing ports include two HDMI 1.4 ports, one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.2, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. You will need to connect to the HDMI 2.0 port to be able to enjoy the higher 144Hz refresh rate, along with an HDMI 2.0 cable. The monitor also comes with a brand new On-Screen Display menu that offers a faster way to access your most-used settings.

I hooked up the Zowie XL2411K with a gaming PC along with a PS5 and Xbox Series X for testing. On PC, the Zowie XL2411K performed well in games like Call of Duty and Overwatch, which mostly eliminated ghosting. It works surprisingly well with the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, both of which can support up to 4K 120fps. Despite the limitation in resolution, it didn’t have any problems showcasing the best of what the hardware can offer.

At 899 AED, the BenQ Zowie XL2411K is one of the few inexpensive options for a decent gaming monitor. It has all the features you will for a smooth gameplay experience, which also supports not just PCs, but the next-generation consoles as well.

We Love:

Final Rating: 4/5
