The Parrot Zik series may be one of the best performing headphones in the market. The wireless functionality and plethora of included features make it a top choice for most audiophiles. It’s latest version, the Parrot Zik 3, offers improved features over its predecessors but is it better? Let’s find out.
There isn’t much changes in design for the Parrot Zik 3 and chances are you might have difficulties distinguishing the older model from the new one. It’s comfortable to wear thanks to the soft padding on the ear cups.
The Parrot Zik 3 also features the same touch activated panel on the right ear cup that lets you do touch gestures that acts as the main control panel for the earphones.
Additionally, this version of the Parrot Zik 3 now comes in assortment of colors and subtle refinements by designer Philippe Starck made on the headband (it’s now more flexible) make it an even better successor.
The Parrot Zik 3 primary uses Bluetooth but you can still use a wired connection. It charges using the microUSB port, in which a braided cable is also included.
We must say that the Parrot Zik 3 has one of the best noise-cancelling features we’ve experienced on a headphone. Background noise is effectively blocked.
Audio quality is great, with deep bass and sharp trebles. Audio tends to lose quality over Bluetooth but that is not the case here – the Parrot Zik 3 definitely is an ear-pleaser.
Most of the other functions can be fine-tuned by downloading the Parrot Zik app. What I love about the app is that you can also download presets that help the headphones sound the way artists intended them to.
After a full charge, the Parrot Zik 3 manages to last about 5 hours, which is with Bluetooth and noise cancellation enabled. It’s an acceptable battery life, though it’s best you keep that charging cable ready just in case the battery runs out.
The Parrot Zik 3 is a definite improvement over its predecessor and it ranks as one of the best Bluetooth headphones available in the market.
