June 6, 2018

SanDisk’s Ultra Dual Drive 3.0 meets a need basic need that we all face – a need to transfer data fast along with that rather recurring need to ensure extra space on our Android devices. The Ultra Dual Drive 3 comes with a retractable design with both micro-USB and USB 3.0 connectors. The USB 3.0 connector, of course, are backward-compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

Pop the device into the Huawei P20 Pro and the Drive mounts automatically, so that you can access, or copy between the two devices. Of course, in its stand-alone status as a regualr flash drive, it does very well, with really fast transfer rates and a drag-and-drop access.

The first thing you notice in terms of build is how its rather tiny, even flimsy. Yet, consider the specific job role the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 has, and it makes sense.

In terms of transfers, up to 150MB/s mean that whole seasons of Netflix’s finest will be transferred and accessible in the time you take to finish your coffee.

One key highlight, interestingly, is the the Memory Zone App. Install it, and you can categorise and set your files in the way you choose. It’s surpisingly well endowed. For instance, you can choose to see your files in terms of storage locations, even in the cloud, open files in external apps, rename files and you also have memory usage stats.

In conclusion? The SanDisk’s Ultra Dual Drive 3.0 is a bit of a necessity. The fact that it comes in up to 256GB storage versions is also a positive. Much recommended.

The Sandisk Ultra Android Dual USB Drive 3.0, starts off at AED 35 for the 16GB variant, with the 128GB  version costing AED 177 and the 256GB at AED 356.
